In compliance with the Protecting Our Students Act, Durham Public Schools is committed to ensuring that our students understand how to recognize and report inappropriate interactions with adults at school. 

During the week of August 24, Hillside students will watch an informational safety video from the Center for Safer Schools. The video explains how to identify concerning behavior and encourages students to seek help if they feel unsafe. 

During the viewing, school staff members will be present to address concerns, ensure that students can ask questions, and connect students with resources if needed.

If you do not wish for your child to view the videos, please call the main office to opt-out by August 24. If you do not object to your child watching these videos, no further action is needed.
